HDM-4 as an economic condition model

Policy makers within the Department for Transport require relevant and up-to-date information on road condition to justify longer-term strategies as well as day-to-day decisions. This project is adapting and calibrating the World Bank/PIARC highway development and management tool HDM-4 for use within the UK.  In particular, the project has produced a data transfer tool that interfaces with the Department’s data sources.

The project is being undertaken by the HDM-4 team in the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham [www.bham.ac.uk].
