SCANNER Acceptance testing and Accreditation
SCANNER surveys are carried out by commercial survey companies, using equipment which has passed an initial acceptance test and annual accreditation test. Vehicles which pass the tests are awarded a certificate (valid for 12 months) which allows them to be used on Scanner surveys. These tests are administered (and certificates awarded) by TRL Limited on behalf of the Department for Transport.
